Heights, Weights, and Build Templates

Pick height before archetypes. Shorter guards buy speed and ball handle, 6'7" to 6'8" wings buy contests, and 7'0" centers buy standing dunks, post shots, or stretch shooting.

Height, weight, position, and the two archetypes set the caps. Badge points and animation slots follow those caps. Coins raise attributes inside the cap. An attribute token is a separate jump toward 99 overall. Nothing here is an official tier. The numbers are the creator caps published for specific templates.

What height changes

Height What you gain Example cap
5'11" to 6'0", minimum weight Speed and handle 6'0" 150 lb True Playmaker: 97 speed, 99 ball handle, 111 playmaking badges
6'1" shooting guard, 165 lb Speed bonus package Shooting Shot Creator: 88 speed, 86 acceleration, 82 ball handle, 92 mid-range, 87 three
6'2" minimum-weight True Shooter 99 three-point 81 speed, 82 speed with ball, 70 acceleration, 70 ball handle
6'4" lowest weight Slash speed without going tiny Playmaker Slasher: 91 speed and 90 speed with ball
6'5" Lock or hybrid wing 195 lb Defending Playmaker: Hall of Fame Clamps; 165 lb True Defender: gold Thief and Intimidator
6'7" lowest-weight SG True Playmaker Size over small guards 93 ball handle, 85 speed, 84 speed with ball, 88 mid-range, 73 three
6'8" 175 lb SF, slash primary, defense secondary Two-way finish 99 driving dunk, 90 driving layup, 84 speed, 92 perimeter defense, 53 three, 75 mid-range
7'0" Paint or stretch True Post Scorer at low weight: 99 standing dunk, 99 post hook, 99 post fade, 95 strength

Shooting guards are described as having higher shooting caps than point guards at the same height. Weight trades strength and screens for speed. The 7'0" post scorer at 240 pounds stays near 70 speed with 95 strength. At 280 pounds strength hits 99 and speed drops by about three. The 275-pound stretch keeps Brick Wall; 240 pounds is the faster 1v1 stretch.

Templates worth saving in a slot

Use Extra Slots (299 Robux, two more slots) if you want more than one of these. Full attribute cards live on the build pages under Classes.

  • 6'8" defending slasher for park defense and contact dunks. Takeovers cited: Gravity Denier with Perimeter Guardian, or Lane Splitter. Ball handle 68, so Young escape, not Beverly.
  • 6'7" true playmaker for mismatch creation. Hall of Fame playmaking badges, gold Clamps, gold Intimidator, silver Thief, gold Green Machine, silver Range Extender. Takeovers: Precision Shooter and Ankle Assassin.
  • 6'2" true shooter when the only job is the three. Hall of Fame Deadeye and Green Machine are named, with 16 defensive badge points and gold Clamps. Takeovers: Assassin and Off Ball.
  • 6'0" true playmaker or 5'10" playmaking shooter when you want 99 speed. The 5'10" gets silver Limitless Range and gold perimeter defense badges, with a shorter contest.
  • 6'3" 165 lb true shot creator for 99 moving three, 99 moving mid-range, and 93 pass accuracy, at the cost of acceleration.
  • 7'0" playmaking stretch for pick-and-pop. Primary Stretch, secondary Playmaking: about 81 three and 90 mid-range, which opens Set Shot. Precision Shooter plus Eraser.
  • 7'0" true post scorer for hooks, fades, and standing dunks. Footwork Maestro in both slots, or Backdown Punisher with Rim Protector.
  • 6'4" 165 lb defender primary / slasher secondary: 89 driving layup, 82 driving dunk, 80 mid-range, 93 perimeter defense, 83 steal, 94 speed.
  • Ja-style 6'2" 170 lb sharp-shooting slasher: 87 mid-range, 86 stamina, 85 pass accuracy, 78 perimeter defense, Finisher and Lane Splitter.
  • Kobe-style 6'5" 180 lb shooter: fadeaways and pull-ups, but the fresh speed is slow. The cited fix is spending coins until speed is at least 60.
  • LeBron-style split: 6'8" SF defending slasher for 99 driving dunk, or 6'4" 165 lb SG with 94 speed, 80 mid-range, 58 three, 93 perimeter defense, 82 driving dunk. The tall version pairs Wall of Steel with Lane Splitter.

A creator video also recommends a 6'4" lowest-weight true playmaker at point guard, a 6'2" 165 lb shooting/playmaking shooting guard, a 6'8" 175 lb defending/shooting lock (70 three, 90 mid-range, 70 driving dunk, 92 perimeter defense), a 6'10" lowest-weight slash/playmaking power forward, and a 7'0" true stretch. Those are one player's picks. Where they disagree with the templates above, the difference is role, not a patch. The Kyrie label shows up in build roundups without a single published height and attribute card, so it is not a separate template here.

Demigod is a community name for the two-way wing, usually the 6'8" minimum-weight slasher/defender, not a menu archetype.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Playground Basketball codes work?

On October 26, 2026, RECUPDATE and UPDATE8 were the two codes confirmed for 4,500 Coins each. You must like the game and join Playground Basketball | Community, then enter the code in the gift box on the main menu. The string is case sensitive.

Is UPDATE7 active?

It is unresolved. Several code roundups still print UPDATE7 for 4,500 Coins, but an October 26, 2026 cross-check did not confirm it. It is not listed as active or expired here. The redeem result in your game is the authority. SEASON3 is listed as expired for 4,500 Coins because multiple roundups mark it expired, even though that same October 26 check called the status disputed.

How do I dunk?

Hold sprint to the rim and hold shoot or Triangle/Y. Tap shoot once before the finish for a hop step, or drive straight with no sideways tilt and tap shoot for a euro. If the gather circle stays white, the dunk is effectively uncontested.

What height should I pick?

6'0" and under buys speed and ball handle. 6'7" to 6'8" buys contests and either playmaking or a 99 driving dunk. 7'0" buys post scoring or stretch shooting. Weight trades speed for strength and screens.

Why did my rep barely move after a win?

Rep, coins, and badge points come from the box score of a finished game. If the opponent leaves early you can get the win and almost no progress. Blocks, rebounds, steals, points, and assists are the actions that move the bar.
